FPL Joe Fantasy Tools
Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026
This policy explains how the FPL Joe Fantasy Tools Chrome extension handles data. Features are off until you enable them and grant optional site access.
This page contains no analytics, scripts, cookies or browser storage. Ordinary hosting request information is described below.
Enabled features and site access
Features use optional access to fantasy.premierleague.com. Player photos also requires resources.premierleague.com; Custom FDR also requires www.fpljoe.com.
- Improved points uses public FPL gameweek player minutes and fixture completion data, cached locally, to distinguish players who did not play from players who scored zero points. It also marks matches that have not started. This optional feature uses only FPL site access; requests identify the gameweek, not your manager or account, and omit credentials and referrers.
- Upcoming fixtures uses public FPL bootstrap and fixture data cached locally, plus player names and shirts already displayed on pitch cards, to show fixtures alongside native statistics. It needs only FPL site access and makes no account-data requests.
- Custom FDR reads fixture labels and downloads public FPL bootstrap and fixture data and FPL Joe projections to display fixture difficulty ratings.
- Improved price changes uses public FPL price-change projections cached locally and the progress values displayed on player cards to show forecast percentages and timing.
- Price change labels only adjusts status wording locally on the FPL price-changes page and makes no data requests.
- Player photos matches pitch player-card names and team shirts to public FPL player data, then loads official photographs from resources.premierleague.com. Player-selection list shirts remain unchanged.
- Custom pitch banner uses your local text and logo preferences with a pitch template packaged in the extension.
Website content processed locally
The extension reads player names, shirts, fixture labels, statistics and progress values displayed on FPL pages only to provide the enabled features. It also reads the current FPL page context locally to distinguish upcoming fixtures from the gameweek shown on a Points page.
No manager ID, squad, account information, page content or browsing history is sent to FPL Joe. The extension does not record a browsing history or send page context to FPL Joe. It does not read or store cookies or authentication tokens, or transfer sign-in sessions.
Public downloads and photo cache
Public bootstrap, fixture, gameweek player minutes and price-projection data is downloaded and cached locally. Official player photos load directly from resources.premierleague.com using normal browser image loading and caching. The extension analyses photos locally in its worker when a crop is first needed or an image changes. It stores crop measurements, HTTP validators (ETags) and check timestamps; it does not maintain its own photo-file cache or convert photo files for delivery to the page.
Saved crop measurements are reused immediately. Checks for changed photos run separately during use, at most once per day for a successfully checked photo. If a check fails, the existing crop remains available and another check may be attempted after an hour. Browser-managed photo caching follows normal browser and server cache behaviour.
Settings stored on your device
Custom pitch text and logo preferences stay in local extension storage and are never sent to a server. The pitch template is packaged locally.
Feature preferences, the selected FPL or Market default source, season-specific difficulty overrides, pending activation requests, normalized public ratings and player metadata, timestamps and generic refresh errors are stored in chrome.storage.local. These settings and public caches are device-local and are not synced.
Network recipients and technical logs
The extension makes HTTPS requests to these public hosts:
- fantasy.premierleague.com for public FPL data;
- resources.premierleague.com for official images;
- www.fpljoe.com for public FPL Joe projections.
Public data requests and worker requests used for photo analysis omit credentials and referrers. Photos displayed on FPL pages load directly from the official image host through the browser and suppress referrers. The projections URL includes a versioned response-format parameter, such as format=chrome-extension-v1 or format=chrome-extension-v2. These values identify the response format used by an extension release and are shared across users; they are not unique user identifiers.
These hosts necessarily receive ordinary network information, including your IP address. FPL Joe uses Vercel for hosting. Its hosting provider may process technical request information, including IP addresses, browser or device information, requested URLs and request times, to provide, secure and maintain the service. The API also logs slow or failed requests and errors, including operational details such as the route, query parameter names, response status and duration.
Hosting logs are subject to the provider's retention periods. Local extension controls do not delete technical logs held by public hosts. Vercel and its subprocessors may process hosting information outside the UK, including in the United States.
The extension contains no analytics or remote executable code. This policy page also has no analytics, and uses system fonts without requesting third-party font services. Analytics used elsewhere on the FPL Joe website are separate from the extension and this page.
Your controls and deletion
Disabling a feature restores the original presentation and stops its refresh requests. Previously granted site access remains available for re-enabling; you can revoke it in Chrome's extension settings. Uninstalling removes extension-local storage.
Limited Use
Data handled by the extension is used only to provide its stated features, in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. It is not sold or used for advertising, unrelated purposes, creditworthiness or lending decisions.
Affiliation
This is an unofficial tool, not affiliated with the Premier League. Defaults come from FPL or FPLJoe.com, with optional local overrides.
